Regular Lesson for 3 weeks

I have taken lessons with Minori sensei for the duration of my stay in Kyoto (3 weeks, almost every day) and I am very happy with this experience.
Minori sensei is a talented professor who knows how to explain things easily and how to break the ice and make the student speak (that was my primary objectif in Kyoto). Kanji explanations were also highly appreciated (having experienced several Japanese teachers, I can say that this is not always the case...)
Moreover, Minori sensei is a very nice person and I am happy that I got to know her, it was a humanly rich experience.

Regular Lesson ⇒ Skype Lesson: Basic level

When I arrived on the day of my first lesson in Kyoto, I didn't know exactly what to expect. However I was delighted to meet a teacher who is very much center on the learner in their learning goals, studying preferences and in challenging them at an appropriate level.
Nagata-sensei is also very accommodating in how the learning takes place - we met at a cafe in Japan, but since I have returned to my home country she kindly agreed to continue our lessons via Skype!
I have been studying Japanese with Nagata-sensei for several months now and my Japanese level has improved greatly. I'm overjoyed to be able to have more fluent conversations with Japanese-speaking friends and to understand Japanese texts better.
I feel much more confident in myself and I've had so fun learning Japanese with Nagata-sensei!

Regular, Skype lesson: Advanced

It has been 4 months since I first met Minori sensei.
I met her when I was terribly worried and troubled about my future plan and learning Japanese.
I was so afraid of making mistakes that I couldn’t speak to Japanese people at all. And because I was living alone, I had no one to consult with about my future. Then I thought of on-line lesson and our lesson started. Minori sensei has taught me not only Japanese language but also how to study the language. She helped me to write research plan and to prepare for interview to go on to the University.
As well as teaching Japanese language, she told me about the various cultures and life in Japan. She invited me to her house and cooked me typical Japanese homemade meal. It was my first time to visit Japanese home and at that moment she became my family in Japan.
Since I met Minori sensei, I have become liking life in Japan. Now I am not afraid of speaking with Japanese people any more. I can communicate with Japanese people more than before. I think we all meet such person in our life. They help us to find the way. Minori sensei is that person for me. All I want to say now is Arigatougozaimasu.
